Your First 30 Minutes
Welcome to Cobblemon PBG. This is the in-game spawn tutorial in written form — eight steps that earn you ₽400 along the way + ₽500 on completion, and unlock the Zenith Gym Challenge. The Journey quest tracker on the right side of your screen tracks the same steps; this page is the mirror you can keep open on a second monitor.
1. Pick Your Starter
The first time you spawn on the PBG hub island, the Cobblemon starter menu opens automatically. If you close it before confirming, press M to bring it back — you can browse the full Gen 1 through Gen 9 starter list, scroll through each species' stats and types, and click to pick the one you want.
Confirmation is permanent. Your starter joins your party at level 5 and that's the Pokémon you'll build the rest of your team around. The one safety net: the PBG Guide at spawn (Step 3) has a one-time reset option if you instantly regret your pick — use it before you put any real time into the Pokémon, because the reset wipes its level and moves.
Picking a starter fires Cobblemon's STARTER_CHOSEN event, which is what the Journey quest is listening for. The first tick on your tracker happens the moment you confirm — ₽50 lands in your wallet.

2. Claim Your Kit
/kit, choose Starter Kit, take the contents.Type /kit in chat to open the kits GUI. The one you want for this step is the Starter Kit — it's a one-time claim that hands you a starter loadout: a stack of Poké Balls, basic Pokémon-care items (a few Potions and a couple of status healers), and a small ₽ bonus to get you off the ground. Click the icon, then take the items from the temporary inventory window.
The Journey quest filters on any /kit invocation, so technically any kit you open advances Step 2 — but the Starter Kit is the one that actually gives you the toolkit the next few steps assume you have.
Kits have per-kit cooldowns baked in. Most are daily; the Starter Kit is one-time only, so don't share the inventory with a friend's account — you can't reclaim it.

3. Meet the PBG Guide
Head to (-6, 2, -15) — the PBG Guide is the NPC standing at the centre of the spawn plaza, just past the starter platform. Right-click them and they'll greet you with:
"Welcome to PBG,
That sidebar they mention is the Journey HUD on the right edge of your screen. It lists your active quest, the current step's objective, and a progress count — keep an eye on it for the rest of this tour, because it updates the moment each NPC interaction registers.
The PBG Guide is also your starter reset NPC (one-time, in case you misclicked in Step 1) and your skip-ahead NPC for returning players — they can fast-forward you straight to Step 4 if you've already done the tour on another character.

4. Visit the Rules NPC
A short walk north from the PBG Guide, at (-2, 1, -28), you'll find the Server Rules NPC — it's a Watchog in a high-vis vest. Right-click them and they'll cut straight to it:
"Three rules to know. Take a look."
Click "Show me the rules" and a GUI pops with the full rules list. The headline three:
- No griefing — outside your own claimed land, don't break, place, or modify other players' builds.
- No hacked clients — vanilla or whitelisted client mods only (Sodium, Iris, Lithium, OptiFine-equivalents are fine; X-ray, autoclickers, kill-aura are not).
- English in global chat — chat in any language you like in DMs or your own claim, but keep the global channel English so moderators can read it.
Reading the rules is what advances Step 4 — the Journey listens for the dialogue interaction, not for you to actually scroll through. But scroll through anyway.
5. Visit the Vote Master
/vote afterward to see vote sites. Two blocks east of the Rules NPC, at (0, 1, -27), stands the Vote Master. Right-click and they'll explain the deal:
"Welcome! I'm the Vote Master — I reward players who help PBG grow. Every time you /vote for the server you earn Vote Points, plus a daily key and a few bonus rewards. Spend those Vote Points in the Vote Shop — cosmetics, currency boosts, and rare items only available here."
The summary: type /vote in chat and the bot will print a list of vote sites — clickable links to each. Vote on any of them and you collect Vote Points (VP) plus a daily vote key for the vote crate, plus a small Pokédollar bonus.
VP is a separate currency from Pokédollars. The Vote Shop is the only place that spends it, and it's where the rare cosmetics live — particle auras, trail effects, and items you can't buy with regular ₽.
6. Visit the Progression Master
Head east across the plaza to (25, 1, -10) — the Progression Master is the NPC tucked near the east gate. Right-click them:
"Hey there! I track two progression systems for every trainer. Dex Rewards unlocks as you catch new Pokémon — milestones give you PokeDollars, items, and permanent QoL perks. Research Tasks are per-species challenges (Legends: Arceus-style) that earn research points and Galaxy Ranks."
In other words: two long-tail systems run quietly in the background of everything you do.
- Dex Rewards ticks every time you register a new Pokémon — milestones (50, 100, 200 species caught, etc.) drop ₽ payouts, items, and permanent quality-of-life perks like extra storage or faster healing.
- Research Tasks are per-species objectives lifted from Pokémon Legends: Arceus — catch 3, defeat 5, evolve 1, that kind of thing. Completing them earns research points that climb you through Galaxy Ranks, each with its own reward bundle.
And the Zenith Gym Challenge — eight NPC gym leaders plus an Elite Four — auto-unlocks the moment you finish this tutorial.
7. Visit the Wiki Guide
The Wiki Guide is a Porygon-Z that greets you with: "Bzzt! Need help, trainer? Our wiki has guides for every feature on the server — from catching Pokémon to raids, shops, and more!"
You're already here. The Wiki Guide hands out a clickable link to wiki.parkballgang.com. Tell a friend.
8. Return to the PBG Guide
Last stop. Walk back to the PBG Guide at (-6, 2, -15) — the same NPC you talked to in Step 3. Right-click them and they'll send you off with:
"You're set. First goal if you want one: catch 3 wild Pokémon and sell them at Pokesell for your first ₽. I'm your index for everything else at spawn — come find me anytime."
The moment that dialogue closes:
- ₽500 drops into your wallet (on top of the ₽50 × 8 = ₽400 you've already collected from the per-step ticks).
- The Zenith Gym Challenge quest auto-starts. Your sidebar swaps to the first gym objective.
- Your
tutorial_completeflag is set, so the PBG Guide won't push you through the tour again.
Type /journey to open the full quest menu — you'll see the new Zenith chain listed as your active quest, plus any side quests you pick up later.
/journey to track it.
