PBG supports an expanded trim system that goes beyond vanilla armor trims. You can now apply decorative patterns to your tools and weapons at a Toolsmithing Table, and customize your elytra with trims, dyes, banner patterns, and glowing effects.

Tool Trims

Trim your swords, axes, pickaxes, shovels, and hoes with decorative patterns — just like armor trims but for your tools.

How It Works

1. Craft a Toolsmithing Table — 2 copper ingots on top + 4 wood planks below in a crafting table
2. Find a trim template — explore structures to discover the four tool trim patterns
3. Apply the trim — place your tool and template in the Toolsmithing Table to apply the pattern
4. Mix and match — use different materials to change the trim colour, just like armor trims

The material you use determines the colour of the trim. You'll need one of these alongside your tool and smithing template:

Elytra Trims

Take your elytra customization to the next level with trims, dyes, banners, and special effects.

How It Works

1. Trim your elytra — use the Smithing Table with any vanilla armor trim template
2. Dye it — combine your elytra with any dye in a crafting table to change its colour
3. Add a banner pattern — apply banner designs to your elytra for unique looks
4. Special effects — combine with glow ink sac for a glowing elytra, or a Nether star for a cosmic effect
