Connecting

What's the server address?

play.parkballgang.com — default port 25565, so no port number needed in the address.

Why can't I connect with vanilla Minecraft?

PBG runs on Fabric with the Cobblemon mod. Vanilla Minecraft (and Forge / NeoForge) won't connect. The easiest way to get the right setup is the PBG QOL Modpack on Modrinth — one-click install. See Install & Connect →.

Do I need the QOL modpack specifically?

It's recommended but not required. The QOL modpack adds client-side quality-of-life mods (minimap, JEI, shaders option, optimisations) on top of the official Cobblemon modpack. Both connect to the same server. If you prefer minimal, the official Cobblemon modpack works fine.

Why does the server say "Outdated server" / "Outdated client"?

Your Minecraft version doesn't match. The server runs MC 1.21.1. Re-launch from the QOL Modpack profile in your launcher — the modpack pins the right version.

Why won't the resource pack download?

Make sure you clicked Yes on the "Allow Server Resource Pack?" prompt when you first connected. If you clicked No, disconnect and rejoin to re-trigger the prompt. Without the pack, PBG-custom items render as missing-texture purple-and-black.

Playing

Where do I respawn after dying?

At your set home if you've run /sethome, otherwise at spawn. Your Pokémon team always comes with you — no item loss on death.

How do I switch starters?

Talk to the PBG Guide at spawn (coords -6, 2, -15). They have a one-time reset option. The reset wipes the Pokémon's level and moves, so use it before you put real time into the starter.

Where do I find `<species>`?

Use /pokeloc <species> in-game to query the spawn pool. For general catching mechanics see Catching Basics →.

What's the level cap?

Level 100, same as vanilla Cobblemon.

How do I change my Pokémon's nature / IVs / ability?

Use the PokéBuilder at spawn. It accepts PokéBuilder Tokens which you convert from Pokedollars (₽) at the same NPC. See PokéBuilder →.

Where do legendary Pokémon spawn?

Earning & economy

How do I earn money fast as a new player?

Vote daily (/vote). Seven sites = ₽1,400 + 35 VP + 7 crate keys per day. After that, work through the daily and weekly tasks. See Currencies → for the broader breakdown.

Where do I buy Master Balls?

At the Vote Master NPC at spawn. They cost 100 VP each. See Voting & VP Store →.

How do I link my chest shops?

How do I trade with another player?

Three ways:

Direct trade — /trade <player> opens a trade window
GTS → — asynchronous marketplace; list a Pokémon for a price
Wonder Trade → — random one-for-one swap

Can I sell Pokémon for money?

Yes — PokéSell → converts Pokémon to Pokedollars based on rarity. Run /pokesell to open the GUI.

How do I become a Player Gym leader?

Apply via the form linked from Player Gyms →. Approved gym leaders run their own gym with custom rules and rewards.

Gyms & progression

Can I challenge the Zenith Gyms in any order?

The eight Zenith Region gyms must be cleared in order — Gym #1 unlocks Gym #2 and so on. The Royal League (Elite Four + Champion) opens after Gym #8. See Zenith Gyms →.

How is that different from Player Gyms?

Player Gyms → are run by community members with their own rules. Most are open-challenge — you can take them in any order.

Community & Discord

How do I link my Minecraft account to Discord?

In-game type /verify. The bot DMs you a code. In Discord, run /verify <code> in any channel (or DM the PBG bot with /verify <code>). See Discord & Verification → for the full flow.

Where's the Discord invite?

How do I report a player?

Open a #support ticket in Discord with screenshots or video. Include the player's name, time, and what they did.

Bugs & technical

My modpack won't launch.

First check that you have enough RAM allocated (4 GB minimum, 6 GB recommended for shaders) and that you're on Java 21 (which the modpack will pin automatically if you use the Modrinth App). If it still fails, open a #support ticket in Discord with the launcher log attached.
