A Catch Combo is the number of times you consecutively catch the same Pokemon species without catching anything else. The higher your combo, the better your rewards.

How It Works

  1. Catch a Pokemon — your combo starts at 1
  2. Keep catching the same species — your combo count increases with each catch
  3. Bonuses activate at tier thresholds — better IVs, shiny chances, extra spawns, and hidden abilities
  4. Don't catch a different species — or your combo will reset!

  • Perfect IVs — guaranteed perfect IV stats on spawned Pokemon
  • Shiny Bonus — added to the base shiny chance
  • Extra Spawn Chance — chance for an additional Pokemon of that species to spawn nearby
  • Hidden Ability Chance — chance for spawned Pokemon to have their hidden ability

What Breaks Your Combo

Your combo resets if you catch:

  • A different Pokemon species (not the one you're comboing)
  • A Shiny Pokemon (any species)
  • A Legendary or Mythical Pokemon
  • An Ultra Beast
  • A blacklisted species
Simply encountering or battling a different Pokemon does not break your combo — only catching one does.

Bad Luck Mitigation

After 200 consecutive catches without finding a shiny, your shiny chance starts to increase incrementally. This system ensures that dedicated shiny hunters are eventually rewarded for their persistence.

Ditto Combos

When comboing Ditto, the maximum number of perfect IVs is capped at 3 regardless of your combo tier.
