Beginner's Guide

Everything you need to know to get started on Cobblemon PBG - from your first steps at spawn to exploring everything the server has to offer.

Welcome to Cobblemon PBG! This guide will walk you through your very first steps — from claiming your starter kit to picking your partner Pokémon and discovering everything the server has to offer.

Step 1: Claim Your Starter Kit

The first thing you should do is claim your free Starter Kit — it's a one-time claim packed with essential items to kick off your adventure.

/kit

Open the kit menu, find the Starter Kit, and claim it. You'll receive:

ItemAmount
Iron Pickaxe, Axe, Shovel & Sword1 each
Park Balls24
Cooked Beef32
Torches8
Pokédex1
Golden Shovel (for claiming land)1
Rare Candy1
Red, Yellow & Green Apricorn Seeds2 each
The Golden Shovel is used to claim land in the Overworld — protect your builds by right-clicking with it to set claim corners!

Step 2: Choose Your Starter Pokémon

Press M to open the Starter Pokémon selection screen and choose your very first partner. Take your time — this is your journey companion from day one!

Once you've chosen, your starter will appear in your party and you're ready to begin exploring and catching Pokémon in the world.

Step 3: Talk to the PBG Guide

Find the PBG Guide NPC at spawn. Speak to them to access guided tutorials covering all of the server's major features, including:

  • Economy & earning Pokedollars
  • Voting and Vote Points
  • The Pokédex reward system
  • Raids, Gyms, and more

These tutorials are a great way to get up to speed quickly without feeling overwhelmed. Work through them at your own pace.

Step 4: Explore Spawn

Take some time to walk around the spawn area — there's a lot to discover! You'll find:

  • Shops & Merchants — Buy and sell items, Pokémon goods, and more
  • NPCs with Services — Trainers, exchange desks, and feature-specific NPCs
  • Vote Master NPC — The Vote Point Store where you can spend VP on rare items
  • Warp Master — Ready to send you to the Overworld, Zenith Region, or Resource Worlds when you're ready to head out
Use /warps at any time to quickly travel between different areas of the server.

Understanding the Worlds

WorldPurpose
Spawn / HubStarting area, shops, NPCs, fast travel
OverworldYour home base — build, explore, catch Pokémon, set up chest shops
Zenith Region8 NPC gyms, the Royal League, quests, and lore
UltraSpaceExplore ultra wormholes and encounter rare Ultra Beasts
Resource WorldsOverworld, Nether & End for mining materials — resets regularly, don't build here

The Overworld is where you'll spend most of your time. Build your base, catch Pokémon across diverse biomes, and grow your collection.

The Zenith Region is an optional adventure dimension with structured gym progression and storyline content. Everything you earn there carries over to the rest of the server.

The Economy

Pokedollars (₽) is the main currency on PBG.
